Apple ‘planning iPhone 17e, new iPads and MacBook Pro for early 2026’

Apple is reportedly planning to release the iPhone 17e, revamped iPads, and upgraded MacBook Pros and Airs, in early 2026.

According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino-based tech giant is aiming for a spring 2026 release for the iPhone 17e, the company's next cheaper handset expected to succeed this year’s $599 iPhone 16e.

The updated phone will supposedly include the latest A19 processor, aligning it with the broader iPhone 17 lineup, and marks a shift to annual updates for Apple’s lower-cost smartphones.

In tablets, Apple is said to be working on refreshed versions of its entry-level iPad and the iPad Air.

The entry model, reportedly due around March or April, will retain its current design but be upgraded with a faster chip.

The iPad Air, which launched a 13-inch variant in 2024, is expected to move from the M3 to the M4 chip, though design changes are thought to be minimal.

On the Mac side, new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros powered by the upcoming M5 chip are said to be in development.

These laptops, which were originally tipped for release in late 2025, may now arrive in early 2026.

Bloomberg claims these will be the last in the current MacBook Pro design before Apple shifts to OLED displays and a refreshed chassis.

New MacBook Airs and a successor to the Apple Studio Display, last updated in 2022, are also on the way. Code-named J427, the new monitor is scheduled to launch in early 2026.

Apple is also continuing work on a smart home hub, code-named J490, which was delayed due to postponed Siri upgrades but could now debut within the same period.

These launches are part of Apple’s reported strategy to boost revenue following a slowdown in recent years, with the next wave of product updates expected to land after the autumn 2025 iPhone cycle.
