COD: Black Ops 7 to be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will receive its global unveiling during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live on August 19.

In a social media announcement, Xbox show host Geoff Keighley confirmed that publisher Activision’s upcoming shooter will headline Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2025.

The broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, 19 August, beginning at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 8 pm CEST.

Keighley posted on X (formerly Twitter): “CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 7 worldwide reveal at Opening Night Live kicks off @gamescom in a massive way. Tuesday, August 19. Streaming live everywhere at 2pm ET / 11am PT / 8pm CEST.”

This marks the first full showcase since Black Ops 7 was teased at the June Xbox Games Showcase.

The game - co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software - continues the story of David Mason in a near-future war set in 2035, following events from Black Ops II and Black Ops 6.

Black Ops 7 will include single-player or co-op campaign modes, traditional multiplayer, and the popular round-based Zombies experience.

Fans can expect a full trailer and gameplay reveal during the August broadcast, as well as a release date.

Industry outlets suggest details on campaign mechanics, multiplayer systems, and Zombies will be included.

The event will stream globally via Twitch and YouTube, alongside live coverage from the convention in Cologne, Germany.

The description for Black Ops 7 reads: “The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by conflict and psychological warfare following the narrative events of Black Ops II and Black Ops 6.

“With cutting-edge technology in hand, the Black Ops team led by David Mason must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else.”
