Samsung confirms ‘earlier launch’ for the Galaxy S25 FE

Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S25 FE will have an “earlier launch” in 2025.

During its Q2 2025 earnings call, the company said it would “expand Galaxy AI to a broader range of models and launch the Galaxy S25 FE earlier than its predecessor”, which had released in October 2024.

Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung’s Mobile Experience division, said in the call: “For the Galaxy S25 series, we will focus on maintaining sales momentum with seasonal promotions as well as an earlier launch of the S25 FE.”

While Samsung did not provide an exact release date, it is possible the device could launch later in August or September.

The Galaxy S25 FE has yet to be officially revealed, but Samsung’s move to announce an earlier timeline for the handset suggests an acceleration of its affordable premium lineup.

This may be in response to increased competition in the mid-range market and the growing importance of on-device AI features across price tiers.

Samsung’s mobile business reportedly saw a year-on-year decline in smartphone shipments, and the company is now focusing on delivering AI-powered experiences to a wider audience. The S25 FE is expected to play a key role in that push.

In its earnings call, Samsung also highlighted plans to “secure sales of new flagship models set to be launched in the second half,” likely referring to the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip devices, but the early confirmation of the S25 FE has drawn particular attention.

While no specifications have been confirmed, the S25 FE is expected to feature a flagship-grade processor, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, and Galaxy AI tools similar to those found on the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung’s move to shift up the launch window may give it a strategic edge in the increasingly crowded affordable flagship segment heading into 2026.
