Coravin's new app matches wine to music

Coravin claims it can match wine to music.

The Coravin Model Eleven has all the handy features of their existing models - allowing you to open your bottle of wine without removing the cork and thus preserving its age and taste - but it can now be used with the Coravin Moments App, giving a whole new experience of wine selection.

This smartphone app helps you discover new wines or pair the experiences with wines you already have. It can also offer suggestions for new wines you could purchase to suit a particular mood or piece of music.

The app - developed in conjunction with Delectable - displays characteristics and regions of each wine, using algorithms to say which wine is best for a particular activity or a particular genre of music or film.

All you have to do is take pictures of the wine you own and it will add wines to the virtual wine cellar with the click of a button.

Frédéric Levy, CEO of Coravin, said: "We're living in a time when people are prioritizing unique, enriching experiences over material things. Wine, unlike any other beverage, sparks the senses and plays a pivotal role in creating memorable moments. At Coravin, we are using technology to change the way the world drinks and thinks about wine. The Coravin Model Eleven and Coravin Moments provides us with a unique platform to connect wine enthusiasts around the globe."

Coravin Model Eleven will be able to be purchased from selected retailers in the United States, United Kingdom and Asia Pacific from September 2018 for $999.95. The app will be available to be downloaded free of charge for iOS users soon after.
