The tech giant has launched the Hearapy app for Android devices in the Google Play store, using a low 100Hz wave tone to reduce feelings of nausea and other symptoms.
The app listing reads: "Motion sickness affects 3 out of 10 travellers and can turn any trip into a nightmare.
"With the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro and the Hearapy app, relaxed travel is possible: A clear 100Hz bass tone stimulates your balance system and promotes well-being on the go."
Users are advised to "listen to the 100Hz bass tone in the Hearapy app for 60 seconds" before you go on your journey.
The listing adds: "Set it to the recommended volume of approximately 85 dB – loud, but still comfortable.
"The integrated timer and volume adjustments allow you to find the perfect bass tone for you."
The app allows the duration to be adjusted between 40 to 120 seconds, while a full minute is meant to provide relief for up to two hours, and can be repeated as needed.
The app has been inspired by research from Nagoya University in Japan, which found that specific sound wavelengths can reduce "the staggering and discomfort felt by people that were asked to read a document in a moving vehicle".
The listing continues: "Studies show that just 60 seconds of a pure 100Hz sine wave can significantly reduce motion sickness. The effect lasts for up to two hours.
"The targeted stimulation of the balance organ in the inner ear helps your body to balance conflicting sensory input – completely without medication."
Of course, it's not a guaranteed cure, and while the app works with most headphones or earbuds, they have to be able to reproduce the tone at a volume of between 80 and 85 decibels.
