Samsung's new TV disappears into the wall

Samsung's new television can disappear into the wall.

The company have unveiled a brand new television, which has a handy feature known as "ambient mode" that detects its surroundings and produces a picture on the television screen that mirrors the wall around it.

It is able to "create an astonishing visual effect in which the TV blends seamlessly into the wall" by mimicking the pattern surrounding it as well as other handy features including taking information from around it throughout the day, even when people aren't watching TV. It also displays music, the news, local traffic reports and gives you updates on the weather.

And in a bid to blend the television into the wall even more, Samsung have developed the new One Invisible Connection - a slim cable which is able to both power the television and also send AV data to it too. It is available in a maximum length of 15 metres, giving the consumer no restrictions on where they place their device in their home.

The new QLED televisions have a Universal Guide that lets consumers scroll through live television as well as supported streaming services. Bixby, Samsung's intelligent software, is also installed, so you can control your favourite shows with just the sound of your voice.

Jong-hee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said: "Our 2018 lineup of televisions are truly our most innovative and sophisticated yet, designed for today's consumer who is mindful of the aesthetics of their space. We are excited for consumers to experience our new TV lineup and features that offer more freedom to decide where and how the TV can be best enjoyed within the home."
