The photo-sharing social networking site's user count is expanding every single day and now bosses want to make it easier for people to find their friends and colleagues by working on a School Tag, which will allow students to find their classmates by listing their graduation year.
Jane Manchun Wong found the feature, which is still unreleased, when she looked through Instagram's Android app code and shared the news with her Twitter followers.
She tweeted: "Instagram is working on "School Tag" for college students:
"Link to your school in your bio to easily find and message other students at your school
"School Tags show in bio, including the name of the college, class year, and major. (sic)"
In order to make sure the platform remains safe, Instagram will allow students to report any pages that claim they are part of the school when they're not as well as speak out about harassment.
The tag can also be removed from bios at the click of a button.
