A study by Blackbox Research has found that residents of India are the most keen to go on holiday again when travel is allowed following the worldwide health crisis.
Indians are the most eager to travel internationally in the next year, with 77 per cent of people revealing they are keen to travel when they can. Thai residents are also ready to travel, with 70 per cent wanting to head abroad and nearly two thirds (60 per cent) of Indonesians want to head abroad.
And when it comes to where they want to go, Singapore is the most popular destination for holidaymakers from the likes of India, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
Saurabh Sardana, Chief Operating Office of Blackbox Research, said: "Governments will need to play a key role in messaging and ensuring travellers' safety, as well as empowering the tourism industry through investment in new technology and innovation that would ensure a seamless, contactless travel experience that is sustainable. The first movers will cash in on the pent-up demand as borders open."
