Toy store stay at Christmas

A lucky family stayed at the toy store from 'Home Alone' this Christmas.

FAO Schwarz opened up their doors after partnering with Airbnb for a special overnight stay at the toy store on December 21, giving the lucky guests a chance to explore the iconic 20,000 square foot shop out of usual shopping hours in what they promised would give memories that last a lifetime.

They shared on Airbnb's website: "Get ready to cozy up amidst towers of toys and games galore for a holiday celebration unlike any other. The 20,000-square-foot flagship store is yours for the evening — and with it, private access to the store’s world of theatre, imagination and wonder, along with memories to last you and your family a lifetime. The experience begins with a warm welcome from me, a real FAO Schwarz toy soldier, and a tour of the two-story toy wonderland I call home, where countless games, puzzles and toys are completely yours for the night. Wall-to-wall candy greets you in the FAO Schweetz dining area, where a delicious dinner on the day of your arrival and breakfast on the day of your departure will be served.

"A festive family hideaway awaits you in the living room, where plush, life-sized stuffed animals welcome your cuddles on velvet sofas and faux fur rugs ... And in the bedroom, a larger-than-life sleigh bed for adults and bunk beds for children - with a slide - set the stage for a family sleepover sure to inspire visions of sugar plums. After you play and explore to your heart’s desire, you can lay your head knowing that you’ll slide right on down to the toy-filled paradise come morning."

The lucky family also got a special music lesson on the store's iconic Giant Dance On Piano as well as a chance to build their own plush toy and remote controlled car.
