This popular Shropshire attraction is closing after 32 years...

Rays Farm is to close permanently after 32 years.

The tourist attraction is situated in the Shropshire village of Billingsley, near Wyre Forest first opened its gates in 1992 but will cease to operate due to cirumstances beyond the owners' control with immediate effect.

A statement posted on the Ray's Farm website read: "It is with regret we have to inform all our visitors, past and present, that Rays Farm Country Matters will not be opening again in 2023. Due to several reasons outside of our control, the decision has been made to close the business.We thank everyone for their support over the last 32 years."

In a separate post, staff at the farm reassured followers on Facebook that they are currently in the process of rehoming their animals.

The post said: "Thank you to everyone who has been in touch regarding the closure of Rays Farm. We have had many enquiries regarding our animals and birds. We would like to reassure everyone that new homes will be found for all of them. This will take time and care.

Several regulars of the farm were saddened by the news, and took to social media to remember their "lovely memories" at the attraction.

One wrote: "I loved bringing my children to your farm when they were younger. Such a lovely place with well cared for animals and we loved the woodland walk. Some lovely memories", while another said: "Such sad news, Rays Farm holds fond memories for lots of families, such a lovely place and lovely people."
