With the coronavirus pandemic currently grounding most from being able to travel, the online travel shopping company have developed a new feature to "inspire" people to "explore" the world still, just from the comfort of their own homes.
Nature and other outdoor activities have so far proved the most popular, whilst museum virtual tours have also been received well.
Manmeet Ahluwalia, marketing head of Expedia in India, said: "In the current environment, it is easy for the stress of isolation and social distancing to impact our personal mental wellness. Despite current challenges affecting world travel, our 'travel from home' aims to inspire people to challenge COVID-19 and engage with the wider world through virtual journeys ... We've witnessed a healthy appetite for our 'travel from home' series in markets we launched in. Nature and outdoors related activities have been the most popular category, followed by museum tours. We're excited to see a similar uptake across the world as travellers look for ways to stay inspired and motivated until their next physical travel experience."
