Fabio Capello: Kylian Mbappe is the best in the world

Fabio Capello believes Kylian Mbappe is "the best player in the world".

The former AC Milan manager still thinks Lionel Messi is "incredible" but feels age is starting to take a toll on the 35-year-old forward and his Paris Saint-Germain teammate is now a cut above.

He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “Messi is incredible. I always choose him, not [Cristiano] Ronaldo.

“But age is age. And at this moment, [Kylian] Mbappe is the best player in the world.

"Mbappe has something different, he is strong, fast, scores a lot of goals. But he has not the same fantasy as Messi.”

And now he's given up coaching himself, Fabio doesn't think there's a better manager than Carlo Ancelotti, who is currently in charge of his old club Real Madrid.

Asked who he thinks is the best manager around, he said: “Carlo. Carlo knows everything about opponents. He prepares really well.”

But he is aware Carlo's stint at Madrid could come to an end sooner rather than later.

He said: “Carlo would like to stay in Madrid. It is all depending on the results of the game against Manchester City [in the Champions League semi-final]. Because I know Real Madrid: you have to win. And when you don’t win, they sack you. Always.”

Carlo has been linked with heading up the Brazil national side and the former England boss warned it is a very different job to managing at club level.

He said: "Yes, Brazil is a completely different job In Madrid, he works every day, speaks every day with the players. A national team manager? I know exactly the difference.”
