Luke Donald has 'deep mutual respect' for fellow Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley

Luke Donald has talked up his "deep, mutual respect" for fellow Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley ahead of the event's tee off on Friday (09.26.25).

Europe's skipper Donald and US captain Bradley know each other well and only live four miles apart, but they will go into battle this weekend.

Ahead of the mouth-watering fixture, Donald has admitted the pair have a "strong friendship", and they've been known to dine together.

He said: "Keegan is someone that I've rooted for.

"If he did well in a tournament, won a tournament, I would text him. We sometimes play practice rounds together, we've had dinners together."

In response, Bradley admitted he loves spending time with Donald.

He said: "There are not many people I like more in the golf world than Luke Donald.

"I feel lucky to have Luke on the opposite side because we send each other texts, we joke around. I love hanging out and having a drink with Luke Donald."

The 2025 Ryder Cup will take place at Bethpage Black, New York from September 26th to 28th, and Europe are looking to win their first away match since 2012.

Donald explained: "We haven't come close to winning three out of the past four away Ryder Cups.

"It's not been close at all. My job is to bridge that gap."

But Bradley has been readying his troops for Ryder Cup battle.

Ahead of their practice on Monday (09.22.25) he played the US National Anthem to inspire his players, who include world number one Scottie Scheffler.

Speaking about it, he said: "Every second that the guys are together and can have a powerful moment, it brings them closer together.

"That was a really fun time. I had this vision of doing that for about a year, and to see how emotional the guys got was a really special time for our team."
