The 36-year-old sportsman plays a fictionalised version of himself in the golfing comedy sequel and though he doesn’t think he’s cut out for life as an actor but he had a great time working with lead star Adam Sandler.
He told Today’s Golfer magazine: “I haven’t even watched the movie yet because I don’t want to see myself trying to act.
“I am going to try and watch it this week maybe but it was an amazing experience.
“Adam Sandler is the best, he’s such a nice guy.
“He made us feel so comfortable, but I am not going to give up my day job any time soon.”
Rory finds it “really cool” being able to speak to people who are “the best” in their own professions.
He said: “I think that’s the great thing about being in this position, you get to be in the company of people who are the best at what they do, whether it’s Sandler in acting or other sportspeople at the top of their game, like Federer, Nadal, Djokovic.
“Being able to spend a little bit of time with them, even just asking them questions and picking their brains on how they cope in pressure situations, that’s really cool.”
Tennis ace Novak Djokovic gave Rory some invaluable advice.
He said: “With Djokovic, he’s just got so much belief in himself.
“He had some hard times earlier in his career and was able to overcome them and turn himself into the greatest player ever.
“He talks a lot about breathing and he practises his breathing a lot – and I’ve tried to incorporate that into my routine a little bit as well.
“Especially in pressure situations, that can help so much.”
