The 28-year-old lock hailed the victory over Canada as a “dream come true” and she believes it means a lot to female players and fans past, present and future.
She told Rugby World magazine: “It’s a chance to redefine women’s rugby.
“We’ve been on this journey ‘For The Girls’ and it wasn’t just about the girls on the pitch but the girls that we also inspire and the girls who’ve come before us and also for everyone who supports us and wants to be part of us as the Red Roses. A dream come true.”
Zoe thinks victory was the culmination of three years of hard work and she was “so proud” of her teammates.
She said: “It’s unbelievable. It’s what dreams are made of.
“We have had so much belief in this group. We’v built something special over the last three years and [the final] was about sticking to our process and just believing in ourselves.
“Everyone just had to do their own job and I think that is what everyone did on the day.
“I’m just so proud of every single one of those girls.”
Claiming victory over a huge home crowd made the result even more special.
She added: “It was such an amazing occasion as well playing in front of 82,000 people. That was next level.”
