Hammers scouts go cold on Brazilian Jonathan Cafu

West Ham scouts were reportedly unimpressed by the performance of Ludogorets' Brazilian winger Jonathan Cafu on Tuesday (08. 01.17).

Reports in Israel claim West Ham sent a spy to the Champions League third-round qualifying match in Razgrad - where Ludogorets beat Hapoel Beer Sheva 3-1 in the second leg but went out on the away goals rule.

Cafu started and played 78 minutes of the match but was overshadowed by fellow Brazilian Wanderson, who scored twice in the first half.

West Ham have been linked to Cafu for the past six months after he impressed during last season's Champions League group stages.

He has recently acquired a Bulgarian passport that makes him more attractive to English clubs, but the 27-year-old is also being chased by Ligue 1 rivals Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, Lyon and Rennes.
