Wales rocked by Sam Warburton blow

Wales have been hit by the news Cardiff Blues flanker Sam Warburton will not play for the remainder of the year due to a neck injury.

The British & Irish Lions skipper has been ruled out for up to four months after aggravating the long-standing injury in training this week.

Warburton will be forced to go under the knife to resolve the problem and will now miss out on all four of Wales' autumn internationals against the likes of Australia, Georgia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Taulupe Faletau and Justin Tipuric are set to feature in the back-row for Wales and now there will be a real battle as to who will complete the trio.

The news will also come as a real blow to the Blues, who have lost both of their Pro 14 games so far this season.
