According to paperwork read by Fox 35 Orlando and filed with Orange County under the name Project 912, Universal is planning to build a large 183,000-square-foot structure featuring show spaces, water effects, queue lines, and surrounding infrastructure.
It’s located in the northeast section of the park, just north of How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, suggesting a new addition is already in motion less than two months after Epic Universe officially opened in May.
Though Universal has not confirmed the attraction’s theme, the size and location of the new structure have sparked speculation that it could be tied to the park’s Dark Universe area, which focuses on Universal’s classic monsters.
The building’s height - reportedly around 80 feet - and inclusion of water-based features hint at a potential dark ride or cinematic experience.
Epic Universe currently features five immersive lands, each designed as a self-contained “world” branching out from a central hub known as Celestial Park.
Guests can journey through Super Nintendo World, join dragons in Isle of Berk, explore the secrets of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, face monsters in Dark Universe, or relax in the lush, steampunk-inspired environments of Celestial Park.
The new filing indicates Universal’s long-term commitment to building upon the Epic Universe blueprint.
The resort has yet to comment officially on Project 912 or provide details about a timeline, but the plans suggest continued growth and a fast-moving development pipeline.
With Epic Universe already drawing crowds since its grand opening in May, the addition of another large-scale attraction so soon signals Universal’s intent to keep expanding its storytelling scope and guest experiences across the park’s sprawling footprint.
