A study by Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada has revealed that a surprising 13 per cent of people have been injured posing for selfies, with that number rising up to nearly one fifth (18 per cent) for millennials.
And the study also concluded that drinking excessively has meant people do not realise they are doing something dangerous and can cause their policy to be void.
Will McAleer, the Executive Director of The Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada, said: "We were surprised to see that that many Canadians have participated in binge drinking."
And it's no surprise that lots of selfies are being taken as a previous study revealed that millennials are obsessed with getting the perfect Instagram shot.
A poll of 2000 British holidaymakers revealed that 78 per cent of those aged 25 to 34 aim to get the postcard perfect Instagram shot, making all their friends envious.
World Travel Market London spokesperson Paul Nelson said: "It would appear that millennials, 'Generation Sensible' or 'sober socialites' - whatever you want to call them - are more health-conscious and mindful of their image when on holiday, and eager to share their photographs instead of handling a hangover. The travel industry is tapping into this trend because Instagram has an estimated one billion users, so it's a very influential platform."
