Australia hosting first virtual travel weekend

Australia are hosting their first virtual travel weekend.

The tourism arm of Australia are hosting a special event, which includes live entertainment, to show off the best the country has to offer.

The weekend, titled 'Live From Aus', will begin with a masterclass on how to prepare a Bondi brekkie bowl with top chef Guy Turland, before viewers will be treated to a very special look at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park with Citizens of the GBR. From there, you can then marvel at Uluru at sunset, with music curated by Sounds Australia.

You can also tune in for a crocodile encounter with Matt Wright, an Aussie brunch with Three Blue Ducks and a wildlife question and answer session with zookeeper Chad Staples across the weekend.

Tourism Australia wrote on their website: "Get ready for an epic program of live entertainment brought to you over a whole weekend and hosted by some of Australia's most adored and iconic personalities. Live From Aus launches on our Facebook page at 10 pm (BST) Friday 15 May and brings you a weekend full of exclusive virtual travel experiences that are sure to ignite your wanderlust. Think Chris Hemsworth-inspired morning workouts in Byron Bay, croc encounters with the Outback Wrangler Matt Wright and dance parties with The Wiggles. Take a break on Phillip Island and enjoy front-row seats at the Penguin Parade; be captivated by the underwater world on a virtual tour of the Great Barrier Reef; learn the best-kept secrets behind the ultimate Aussie BBQ from chef Hayden Quinn, and soak up the serenity of an Uluru sunset - all from the comfort of your couch. What are you waiting for? RSVP now to #seeaustralia from your couch and start planning your next Aussie adventure. (sic)"
