According to Sport, the 28-year-old forward has impressed club bosses during his season-long loan from Manchester United, and Barca higher-ups have now reached the “unanimous” decision to activiate the €30 million purchase option to keep Rashfrord.
The club reportedly considers the buyout to be a “reasonable and affordable price” considering Rashford’s good form.
Rashford joined the Spanish champions last summer and has quickly become a regular under head coach Hansi Flick, contributing goals, assists and tactical flexibility as Barcelona push on domestically and in Europe.
Barcelona are one point clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga and have already secured progression in the Champions League, with Rashford playing a key role across competitions.
Rashford previously asid he wanted to stay at Barcelona for “as many [seasons] as possible“.
Speaking to TNT Sports after Barcelona’s 2-1 Champions League win over Newcastle United earlier this season, he said: “I want to stay here for as many [seasons] as possible. We will see. I have to focus on trying to do my job and trying to help the team in whichever way I can.
“I’m learning a lot, it’s a new style of football. But it’s making me a better player. Honestly, it’s an amazing experience. I’ve always been a huge admirer of Barcelona, every player my age has watched them play.”
The forward has also credited Flick with giving him confidence and clarity since his arrival in Spain, pointing to a strong working relationship that has helped him settle quickly in La Liga.
He said: “He’s very important. I feel the confidence he’s given me. I knew he was a top manager before I arrived here, but to work with him is a pleasure.”
From Barcelona’s perspective, securing Rashford permanently would remove uncertainty ahead of next season and allow Flick to build continuity into his attacking unit.
The club have been cautious in the market in recent years, but supposedly view this deal as a rare opportunity to secure a proven international forward at a fixed and manageable cost.
