Nottingham Forest sack Sean Dyche after 114 days in charge

Sean Dyche has been sacked by Nottingham Forest.

The coach has been relieved of his duties after just 114 days in charge in the wake of the 0-0 draw with bottom side Wolves on Wednesday (11.02.26) that leaves the club just three points above the relegation zone.

Dyche's exit means that Forest are looking for their fourth manager of a season that started with Nuno Espirito Santo in charge before Ange Postecoglou lasted only 39 days.

A club statement said: "Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.

"We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club and we wish them the best of luck for the future.

"We will be making no further comment at this time."

Dyche accepted that his position was under threat following the draw with Wolves - as owner Evangelos Marinakis cut a frustrated figure at the City Ground as the team failed to score despite registering 35 shots at goal.

The coach said prior to his dismissal: "The owner has been fair to me, without a shadow of a doubt. If anyone chooses to change in football now, that's their decision. We've all seen it.

"People can demand change, and then it's always whether they change or not."

Forest have endured a turbulent campaign this year after finishing seventh under Nuno last term and securing European qualification for the first time in 30 years.

The Portuguese was dismissed in September after a breakdown in his relationship with Marinakis - leading to Postecoglou's stint in which he failed to win any of his eight matches.

Dyche took over in October and made a positive start with early wins over Porto in the Europa League and Liverpool in the Premier League - but he departs with Forest winning just two of their last 10 league games and hovering perilously close to the trap door.
