'We're ready' says Frank de Boer

Frank de Boer is looking forward to his first competitive game in charge of Crystal Palace and feels they are "ready" for Huddersfield.

The Dutchman was drafted in as Sam Allardyce's replacement over the summer and has enjoyed a full pre-season with his charges.

The former Ajax coach has not brought in many new players but has defender Jairo Riedewald and Ruben Loftus-Cheek on board and looks like taking Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan.

However, he has a clean bill of health to face the Terries in the season-opener, with both Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur possibly back in contention, and appears happy with the players he has at his disposal.

"I think we are ready and we showed against Schalke physically we are OK, and of course it's a new system and everybody has to adapt," he told the Advertiser.

"All the players are important and they need to play these extra minutes, as they could be key for the rest of the season. So I think we'll be ready for Saturday."

And the boss reserved special praise for Saturday's opponents who defied the odds to reach the Premier League the play-offs.

"Huddersfield have done well and deserve to be in the Premier League with the philosophy that they play," he added. "I am looking forward to my first game against them."
