Emre Can confident of winning return

Emre Can is confident Liverpool will return to winning ways soon after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Manchester United on Saturday.

The Reds were the more progressive side during the match at Anfield, but they have now only won one of their last eight matches in all competitions and they currently sit nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League standings.

German international Can certainly believes Liverpool should have secured all three points against United, but he remains confident they will start winning on a consistent basis soon, starting with their Champions League clash at Maribor on Tuesday.

"We have to win that game because we dominated for 90 minutes. I think we had good chances and United had one shot on target with Lukaku," Can told SFR Sport.

"It's the same story like before the international break but we have to go again on Tuesday because I think it's just a small, small step and then we will come in the right direction again."

Can remains confident Liverpool can still enjoy a successful season and he believes it is too early to write them off in the Premier League title race.

He added: "It's too early [to make judgements], nothing is over yet and we have to believe in ourselves. We have to win the next game."
