The Dutchman asked for a transfer during the summer window in the hope of forcing a move to Anfield, but it did not work as Saints dug in and refused to sell.
There have been strong suggestions that Liverpool will make another attempt to do a deal in the January window, but Van Dijk appears to be settled at St Mary's and is happy where he is.
The central defender says he is fully committed to Saints and has played down all talk of a move away.
"Firstly, I don't think it's appropriate to comment on anything that happened before," the Dutchman said. "But I am giving 100 per cent for the club. I work hard every day, I help my team-mates, I'm positive and I want to win every game.
"I am happy and that's the most important thing so we will just see what happens."
