Stuart Hogg hails Scots progress

Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg says their record win over Australia has set the bar high and they cannot let their standards drop.

Hogg missed the 53-24 win over the Wallabies after injuring himself in the warm up, but watched on as his team-mates put in a fine performance that should give their confidence a huge boost.

Hogg says the win shows how much talent they have in their ranks, and wishes the Six Nations was starting tomorrow.

"We can really take a huge amount of confidence going forward," Hogg said. "We knew Australia was another massive challenge for us, and the manner of that victory was something pretty special.

"Everyone is asking us, 'is it a challenge for us to back that up?' I don't believe it is. I think that has to be the norm for us. That has to be the minimum standard, and that is something we will strive towards every single day.

"We believe in ourselves. We fully understand the amount of talent we have got playing in Scotland at the moment, and every single one of us seems to be performing well.

"So we believe in each other's ability, the coaches have got a game-plan for us to execute that will go out and pick up victories. You can see that over the last few weeks, and the last few years as well, that it works when we get it right. For us it is exciting times - I just wish the Six Nations was tomorrow."
